In order to avoid the undue weight (not to mention expense) of framing a piece this size in glass or plexi, the expert framer recommended against doing so.  The big advantage is this large piece is deceptively light.  It can easily be handled and hung by one person.  And because it is so light, you don't need any heavy duty hanging fixtures so there is no need to put big holes in your wall to display it.  One simple hanging hook is sufficient.  Another advantage is there is no glare as the bright colors really "pop."
