    Description

    J252 - For sale here is a great looking US WWII Army Air Forces Cut Down Ike Jacket. The jacket is patched up for a 5th Air Force Air Technical Service Command Unit. As mentioned, this jacket was once a Class A Uniform jacket, but has been nicely converted to an Ike. Uniquely, the jacket features small brass Army buttons on the cuffs, epaulettes, and waistband. All of the plastic closure buttons are present, but the right breast pocket button is broken.  The jacket features sergeant chevrons on each sleeve and Air Force Technical Command patch on the left shoulder and a 5th Air Force patch on the right shoulder. The jacket has 2 piece screw back Air Corps enlisted collar brass, a ruptured duck, and a 4 place ribbon bar with ETO and Philippines Service. The ribbon bar is a mix of clutch and pin back. Inside, the jacket is marked 36R in the collar and has had an interior pocket added at the time of cut down. There are no other names or markings.  This is a beautiful cut down for your collection.
