    Description
    This is an ORIGINAL pair of the Type A-11 Flying Pants issued to airmen of the USAAF beginning during WWII through Korea. The A-11 pants came about as a result of GEN "Hap" Arnold's order to get away from the shearling wool flight clothing and instead use cloth garments with alpaca pile linings.  According to the late Glen Sweeting's
    Combat Flying Clothing
    at pages 44-45, the Type A-11 pants were standardized on April 7, 1944. In addition to the four pockets at the thighs and shins, two pockets on the seat, the Type A-11A pants added a pocket on the left thigh for the bail-out bottle. The Type A-11 flying pants have the woven QM tag, which states it is a size 30" waist. The additional measurements are as follows: Inseam 30"; and Overall 47". The pants are in MINT condition, with strong sage green color and completely functional Talon fly zipper and two leg zippers down the front of the pants.
    Best of all, the pants still have the ORIGINAL AAF-issue suspenders on them, ready to wear!
    Here's a chance for the AAF collector or re-enactor to buy a great pair of original pants for the collection or impression.
