Description
Terms and Conditions of this auction: Your bid is an agreement to the terms and conditions listed below:Description: Large collection of old barn door hinges. These are original and have not been restored. They were purchased at a Montgomery County auction, which may indicate they came off of a barn in that county or nearby Bucks County. Free Local Pick Up Only, as I cannot mail this lot due to the prohibitive shipping cost.
Please review entire listing, including title, pictures, description, and terms. Questions welcome before the end of listing.
Condition:
Please note peeling paint, rust, and other imperfections pictured. This lot is being sold as is and with all faults. Please see imperfections that are noted or are otherwise visible in uploaded images/scans. Also, please remember that an interpretation of an item's condition-along with the associated description of that condition-can vary from person to person. Please look at the pictures provided, ask any questions, and then make your own final determination as to the condition of the item(s) being offered for sale.
Due to age of these items, which are stored offsite,
be aware that careful transportation, as well as careful sorting to answer any questions, may still result in some flaking to the paint or additional minor wear that will obviously not be visible in the uploaded photos.
For most items, a picture (or even a collection of pictures) will not show every angle of an item. Instead, the pictures will provide a general idea of the condition. Still, if you desire more pictures or more information, it is your responsibility to ask for additional pictures before bidding. If you bid without making that request (or before receiving a reply from me), you are still committing to buy the item being offered for sale.
Digital Photos and on Screen Viewing:
Cameras and computers sometimes display colors differently. Colors, when viewed on a computer screen, can be lighter or darker than the actual item(s) that is being photographed. Please keep this in mind when you place your bid.
Sales Tax, Use Tax, Other Taxes:
I do not operate a business and therefore do not collect any tax on my sales. Since tax laws vary by state, you may be responsible for remitting sales or use tax to the appropriate state agency. The bidder, by bidding, agrees that if any sales or use tax (or any other tax) is due on the item(s) purchased, it is to be paid and remitted to the appropriate agency by the buyer and not the seller. While eBay has largely automated this process, if there is any error in their collection or calculation of tax due, the buyer agrees to pay the correct amount to the appropriate agency and to not hold the seller responsible for covering any additional amount of tax due. Your bid is an agreement to these conditions and signifies that you understand and will comply with the above stated terms.
Is the seller willing to entertain Buy It Now offers when an item is listed in an auction format?
I will entertain offers, but the auction in question cannot have a bid on it. If another person has already bid on the item, I cannot offer it to someone else.
Shipping Cost:
Listing is available for Free Local Pick Up only. No shipping option is available for this listing.
My shipping policy:
I DO NOT SHIP INTERNATIONALLY. If an international bidder bids in violation of the policy, I may, at my discretion, ship to that bidder. However, the bidder will be responsible for all shipping, packing, and handling costs. Please note: These cost are significant and routinely meet or exceed . They are also not the same as the stated shipping costs listed in the terms of this listing.
If accepted, bids from international bidders are an agreement and commitment to pay the additional costs associated with international shipping.
Insurance is suggested, but not required. I pack all items the same way I would like to someone else to pack them if I was ordering the item in question. However, I cannot control how the mail is handled once it leaves my hands. This is why I suggest purchasing insurance for your item(s). Please note that I make no money when a buyer purchases insurance.
Seller reserves the right to change shipping method listed in the auction. For example, an item listed with Priority Mail shipping may ship VIA register mail or First Class. Most of the time this is not necessary and if changes are necessary they almost always result in a free shipping upgrade.
I list the majority of my items with free shipping or fixed shipping costs.
The
calculation of these costs, if the listing is not listed with free shipping, covers various expenses associated with mailing an item. This allows for up front pricing, without the buyer having to guess what they will have to pay. Please note: if an item is not listed with insurance provided it may not be provided and the cost for providing that insurance, if the buyer requests it, will be in addition to the shipping price stated in the auction. If free shipping is offered it is usually offered via the cheapest method. Please note: This section supersedes any shipping service and costs auto filled by eBay or listed outside of the seller's written description.
By bidding you agree that the transaction is completed when the item(s) purchased are received by the post office. Furthermore, your bid indicates that when insurance is provided on an item (or group of items) it will only be provided up to the final price of the item and not its actual value. Should an item(s) be lost, stolen, or damaged in the mail, you agree that the seller will only be required to provide documentation of mailing and, if purchased, postal insurance. In the filing of any claim, regardless of the outcome, the buyer agrees not to hold the seller responsible for any loss resulting from an item being, stolen, lost, or damaged in the mail. This includes instances of damage, loss, or theft of the item(s) after being delivered or left at the buyer's shipping address.
Use and possession of item(s) purchased:
Your bid is an agreement that you will hold the seller harmless for any damage or liability that arises from the possession, use, or resale of the item(s) purchased from the seller.
Information about the seller:
You understand that the seller is offering items from his personal collection. He is not a business owner. He is not an expert in item authentication and grading. Furthermore, you understand that the seller is not a registered auctioneer or certified appraiser.
By bidding, you agree that your bid is an acknowledgement that you understand that the description and title of this auction are to be viewed as a guide, not as a guarantee or statement of fact. These terms, along with those above and below this paragraph, are similar to those employed by many antique shops and auction houses that offer vintage items for sale or auction. Remember: When in doubt, please email me and ask me a question before you bid. This helps ensure a smooth transaction, one where the seller gets a sale and the buyer gets the item(s) they want to purchase.
Storage of items offered for sale:
Seller reserves the right to store items offsite. If a purchased item (or items) is then damaged, destroyed, or stolen at an offsite location or the seller's home address, the buyer agrees that the seller will only be liable to refund the purchase price of the item or items purchased. Likewise, if any listing is damaged, destroyed, or stolen before the close of an auction, the high bidder agrees not to hold the seller liable for any loss resulting from the seller becoming unable to complete the transaction.
Feedback policy:
If you are satisfied with your item, please leave positive feedback. I will leave feedback once I receive feedback. If not feedback is left, none will be given. This is my feedback policy. If you have concerns or questions before or after receiving your purchase, please contact me before leaving feedback. I am a reasonable person, but I can only address concerns or questions if I contacted about those concerns.
All sales are final:
All items are sold as is, with no written or verbal warranties (expressed or implied). Your bid represents your agreement to this condition.
By bidding you agree that if one or more of the above terms are invalidated or deemed non applicable, by eBay or any other party having authority over this or any other transaction with the seller, it will not invalidate the remaining terms and conditions the seller has listed in this auction.
