A beautiful 1878 three dollar gold piece graded MS 62 by PCGS. The three dollar gold series has been in very strong demand lately among collectors and has been very difficult for us to carry in inventory. This is one of the nicest graded examples we have ever offered. It is very appealing for the grade level and has been housed in a PCGS Secure Label Holder. It is the most common and affordable date to the entire series.
This date holds a total mintage of only 82,304. However, of this low mintage the PCGS Coin Facts estimates that only 25,000 have survived in all grades today. It is one of only 1,210 graded Mint State 62 by PCGS.
